Client survey results November 2008

In November 2008 we conducted a survey amongst travel bookers to find out more about how organisations manage their travel programmes, and their experiences of booking with Key Travel.

The survey focused on travel policy awareness and compliance, what's important to clients when booking travel, service experience, preferred booking methods, and future travel booking volumes.

A summary of the results can be found below:

Only 69% of respondents from charities knew their organisation had a travel policy, compared to 78% in Universities, (yet many people did not know where to find a copy of the policy!)

Of those who knew there was a travel policy, only 75% of respondents from universities said they followed the policy, compared to 82% from charities.

Universities ranked the speed of enquiry handling over the range and value of quotes offered in importance.

Charities, however, ranked the range of value and quotes as being most important, with the knowledge and expertise of consultants in second place.

Twice as many people from universities stated a preference to buy travel online (rather than by phone or email request) than charities.

Interestingly, at the time of the credit crunch, only 5-6% of respondents from all sectors thought their travel expenditure was going to decrease in the next 12 months, with most thinking it would stay the same and 26-28% thinking it would increase.
